The place where one of the four partial German armed forces capitulations was signed on 9 May, 1945 was famous for its hot spring centuries before then, and in the first half of the 20th century for its sanatorium and forest school. Today, the heart of Topolšica is the modern natural spa set amidst green forests.
Butterfly Day in Topolšica
Butterfly Day is dedicated to teaching the youth about various professions, sports and the like. Taking part in the events are firefighters, the police, the army, speleologists, water-sports clubs, scouts and others. A special focus is on butterflies, as there are hundreds of summer lilacs or butterfly-bushes planted around Topolšica. Each year, many people take part in the event, most being families with young children.
